Flowers and Ivies Peaking Through Fences: North Belfast

On a sunny June afternoon,
I am walking along the Somerton Road
in North Belfast, and I notice the flowers
and ivies peaking through the
fences and the cracks in the stone walls.
They want to see what's going on in the
outside world, although it's much prettier
in their gardens.  They don't ask permission
or ask to be landscaped but rather they seem
to have their own creative vision, their own
aesthetic.
